Terms of use

Last updated: October 2026

This English text is a courtesy translation. If it differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of Áureo Market ("Áureo," "the Platform"), operated by Aureo Technologies S.A.S. from Colombia. By registering, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Áureo is an information marketplace: it connects clients with verified pawn shops, makes offers comparable, and facilitates appointment scheduling. It does not buy gold, lend money, custody jewelry or funds, and is not supervised by Colombia's Financial Superintendency.

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, using the app, requesting a quote, booking an appointment, or accessing any part of the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you act on behalf of a shop or other legal entity, you represent that you have sufficient authority to bind it. If you do not agree with any provision, you must stop using the Platform.

Definitions

  • "Áureo" or "Platform": the Áureo Market digital marketplace and its associated sites (including aureomarket.co and app.aureomarket.co).
  • "Aureo Technologies S.A.S." or "the Company": the Colombian company that operates Áureo Market, tax ID (NIT) 902.103.730-3, registered at Carrera 53 No. 46-27, Office 702, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia.
  • "Client": a natural person of legal age who uses the Platform to quote, compare offers, or book appointments with shops.
  • "Shop" (compraventa): a verified commercial establishment that offers pawn, purchase, or sale of gold services through the Platform.
  • "Offer": a proposal of amount, rate, term, or other conditions sent by a shop in response to a client request.
  • "Appointment": an in-person meeting scheduled between client and shop to evaluate the piece and, if applicable, sign a contract.
  • "Pawn contract": an agreement entered into in person between client and shop; Áureo is not a party to that contract.

Nature of the service

Áureo operates an information marketplace that facilitates comparison of gold pawn offers among verified shops. Our service consists of connecting parties, informing users, ordering offers in a comparable way, and supporting in-person appointment scheduling.

Áureo is not a financial institution, pawn house, mineral trader, asset custodian, or payment intermediary. It does not grant credit, buy gold directly from the public, receive operation funds, or hold jewelry in deposit.

  • The economic transaction occurs exclusively in person, between the client and the chosen shop.
  • Áureo does not guarantee that a shop will grant a loan, purchase a piece, or maintain a published offer.
  • Platform content is informational and comparative; it does not constitute legal, financial, tax, or investment advice.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to contract.
  • You must provide truthful, complete, and up-to-date information.
  • The service is oriented to the Colombian market; shops must comply with applicable regulations, including mineral trading rules when relevant.
  • Áureo may reject, suspend, or limit access when there are signs of fraud, impersonation, legal non-compliance, or risk to marketplace integrity.

Registration and accounts

To use full Platform features you must create an account with valid information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

Shops must complete a verification process (KYB/KYC) and keep their business information, supporting documents, and applicable registrations (such as RUCOM or others required by Colombian law) up to date.

  • You may not share accounts or transfer access without Áureo's authorization.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Áureo may request additional verification to protect users, shops, or the marketplace.

Permitted use and conduct

You agree to use the Platform lawfully, respectfully, and in accordance with these Terms.

  • Do not publish false information about weight, karat, origin, or value of pieces.
  • Do not bypass the Platform to close operations outside the agreed flow for commission evasion, fraud, or abuse.
  • Do not harass, threaten, discriminate, or share contact data in ways that violate others' privacy.
  • Do not attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or third-party data.
  • Do not use bots, mass scraping, or automation that affects service stability.
  • Do not use the Platform for money laundering, terrorist financing, or other unlawful conduct.

How the marketplace works

The typical service flow includes: (i) client quote or request; (ii) shop offers; (iii) condition comparison; (iv) appointment booking; (v) in-person contract signing between the parties; and (vi) closure registration on the Platform when applicable.

Áureo may filter communications, hide identity until an appointment is confirmed, rank results by merit or other disclosed criteria, and mark sponsored content without misleading changes to organic order.

Response times, appointment availability, and commercial conditions depend on each shop. Áureo does not control their internal operations.

Verified shops

Áureo performs reasonable verification of shops integrated into the marketplace, but verification does not equal an absolute guarantee of future conduct, solvency, or permanent compliance.

Each shop is responsible for its own legal, commercial, labor, tax, and anti-money-laundering obligations. Clients should review conditions, rates, receipts, and contracts before signing.

Quotes and reference prices

Calculators, spot prices, exchange rates (TRM), estimated ranges, and comparisons shown on the Platform are same-day references for informational purposes. The final offer depends on in-person appraisal, piece condition, shop commercial policy, and applicable law.

A loan against gold usually represents a percentage of the metal's reference value; that percentage varies by shop and is not guaranteed by Áureo.

Appointments and in-person contracts

An appointment is a meeting agreement between client and shop. Áureo facilitates scheduling but is not responsible for no-shows, delays, last-minute changes, or conditions offered at the premises.

The pawn contract or equivalent operation is entered into directly between client and shop, in person, with full identification when the law requires it. Áureo does not draft, negotiate, sign, or execute that contract.

Any discrepancy regarding amounts delivered, applied rates, or contract clauses must be resolved between client and shop, without prejudice to registration and commission review mechanisms provided on the Platform.

Commissions and billing

Client use of the Platform to quote, compare, and book appointments is free unless Áureo expressly states otherwise.

Áureo charges shops a commission when a signed contract is registered according to commercial terms in effect at closure. Rates, billing cycles, and payment conditions are communicated to shops during onboarding or in their business panel.

A shop's failure to pay may result in suspension, removal from the marketplace, or collection actions as permitted by law.

Intellectual property

The Platform, its design, trademarks, software, text, graphics, and other Áureo-owned content are protected under applicable law. Aureo Technologies S.A.S. retains all rights not expressly granted.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, decompile, or commercially exploit the Platform without written authorization, except for personal non-commercial use permitted by law.

Privacy

Personal data processing is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at /legal/privacidad, which forms an integral part of these Terms. We recommend reading it before using the Platform.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," to the extent permitted by Colombian law, including the Consumer Statute (Law 1480 of 2011) when applicable.

Áureo does not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that third-party offers remain valid until you arrive at the shop.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Áureo and Aureo Technologies S.A.S. shall not be liable for indirect damages, lost profits, data loss, or harm arising from: (i) transactions between client and shop; (ii) amounts, rates, or clauses agreed on or off premises; (iii) loss, theft, or damage to jewelry; (iv) third-party breaches; or (v) force majeure or infrastructure provider failures.

Where law does not allow limiting certain liability, we will respond only to the extent required by applicable regulations.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Áureo, Aureo Technologies S.A.S., and their officers, employees, and providers from claims, damages, fines, or costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Platform, breach of these Terms, or violation of third-party rights.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time and request account deletion under the Privacy Policy.

Áureo may suspend or terminate access, in whole or in part, if it detects breach of these Terms, fraud risk, valid authority request, or need to protect marketplace integrity. When reasonable, we will notify you of the measure and its reasons.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, operational, or service changes. We will publish the current version on this page with the update date. If a change is material, we will notify you by reasonable means. Continued use after the effective date implies acceptance of the updated Terms, unless the law requires additional consent.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, including, when applicable, provisions on electronic commerce, consumer protection, and personal data protection.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, the parties submit to the competent courts of Colombia.

Dispute resolution

Before starting legal action, we invite you to contact legal@aureomarket.co to attempt a direct solution within a reasonable time.

Consumers may use protection mechanisms under Law 1480 of 2011, including the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), when applicable.

General provisions

  • If any clause is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
  • Áureo's tolerance of a breach does not waive the right to require future compliance.
  • These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and specific commercial conditions communicated to shops, constitute the entire agreement between you and Áureo regarding Platform use.
  • Áureo may assign this agreement in corporate reorganization processes, maintaining the obligations set forth herein.
